UNICS and the Basketball Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan visited Zainsk

Last weekend, as part of the basketball development program in the region, BC UNICS together with the Basketball Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan visited the city of Zainsk, where the final of the regional stage of the KES-Basket school basketball league championship was held.

In the 2022/23 season, about 1,500 teams from different settlements of the Republic of Tatarstan took part in the competition. 4 strongest teams of boys and girls made their way to the final stage, the games of which were hosted by the Secondary School No. 7 of the city of Zainsk. This year the triumphants were: the girls from Lyceum No. 83 in Kazan, the boys from a multidisciplinary lyceum named after A.M. Bulatov in Kukmor. The winners will represent the Republic of Tatarstan in the final of the SBL KES-Basket championship of the Volga Federal Region of the Russian Federation.

In order to introduce boys and girls to their idols, UNICS players Sergey Polstyanov and Stanislav Pinchuk, as well as coach Artur Bigeev, came to visit them. The masters held a three-point shooting contest among the participants and answered numerous questions from schoolchildren. At the end of the event, traditional autograph and photo sessions were held.

President of the Basketball Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan Bogdan BOGACHEV held a solemn awarding ceremony for the winners and prize-winners of the final, and also handed all participants tickets for the next home match of UNICS in the VTB United League championship with Zenit St. Petersburg, which will be held on February 26.
