UNICS-2 is twice stronger than Enisey-2

On January 13 and 14, in the next round of the regular season of the VTB United Youth League, our team twice prevailed over peers from Enisey-2.

In the first match Andrey KIBENKO's team won a convincing victory with a score of 98:81. Guard Sergey POLSTYANOV scored 26 points in the match and added 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Guard Anatoly GUNTER shot another 18 points into the opponent's basket. Kazan's success was brought by high accuracy of hits from the game (52.8% vs. 37.3%) and a 4-fold advantage in steals (12 to 3).

In the second match, the hosts defeated the Siberians with a score of 107:58, setting a record for the performance of the season in the VTB United Youth League. Five basketball players of our team scored double-digit points at once. Sergey POLSTYANOV showed impressive statistics of 28 points (5/7 three-pointers), 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Anatoly GUNTER and Ilya BARANOV scored another 26 points for two. Stepan SHULGIN has 10 points and 7 rebounds. Artem Kizilov scored 10 more points and 3 steals.
Our guys outperformed the opponent under the basket, taking 48 against 35 rebounds and stole the ball more often (12 to 5).

Andrey KIBENKO's team will play its next matches on January 25 and 26 against one of the leaders of the championship Runa-2 on the home court of Vasilevo.
