UNICS-Junior: 5 out of 5 in the first round of the Semifinal round!

UNICS juniors showed 100% result in the 1st round of the Semifinal Round of the Junior Championship, the games of which were held on the floor of Vasilevo .

On its site, the Kazan team led by Oliver POPOVIC consistently beat the Krasnoyarsk SSHOR Enisey (75:66), Moscow MBA-Academy (61:56), Novosibirsk (61:55), Soyuz-SS from Zarechny (66:49) and SSHOR No. 2 Samara regions (78:63), confidently taking 1st place in the Group G1.

The most productive player in the opening match was Roman ILYUK, who recorded 21 points and 5 rebounds. Artem SATIEV (18+13 rebounds+3 steals+2 blocked shots) and Daniil DUBOVOY (13+10 rebounds) scored double-doubles. Ayaz Ali ALPEREN brought the team 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.

The next day, in the match with MBA Academy, Nikita NIKIFOROV became the best in the white-green team, scoring 17 points (5/10 from behind the arc) and making 4 rebounds. Roman ILYUK added 13 points, 5 steals and 4 rebounds, Artem SATIEV - 12 points with 8 rebounds. Daniil DUBOVOY dominated on the board, collecting 14 rebounds (+7 points).

The creators of the strong-willed victory over Novosibirsk were Daniil DUBOVOY (18+9 rebounds +4 assists+3 steals), Artem SATIEV (14+13 rebounds+3 assists) and Ali Alperen AYAZ (12+11 rebounds+6 steals).

Only one rebound was not enough for Artem SATIEV to double-double in the winning match with Soyuz-SS – 23 points (3/5 from behind the arc) and 9 rebounds. Roman ILYUK has 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

In the final meeting with SSHOR No. 2 from Tolyatti (Samara region), Daniil DUBOVOY (24+8 rebounds+4 assists+3 steals) and Artem SATIEV (23+12 rebounds +5 assists) caught courage, the two of them scored more than half of the team points – 47 out of 78. Ali Alperen AYAZ recorded 11 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds.

The next round of the Championship of the Youth Basketball League is scheduled for February 2023. In the 2nd Semifinal round, the Kazan guys will play in the group B2.
