UNICS juniors took 2 wins in 5 matches of the second round of the semi-final round of the XXIII Russian Championship among juniors under 19, the games of which were held on the floor of Vasilevo from February 7 to 12.

On the home court, the Kazan team led by Oliver POPOVIC beat MBA-Dynamo from Moscow (85:71) and UOR No. 3-Khimki (63:54), taking 4th place in group B 2.

Last Wednesday, UNICS juniors lost to peers from Samara juniors (66:88), on Thursday – to Moscow Runa-juniors (57:78) and finally, on Friday – TSK Ural School No. 3 named after A.D. Myshkin from Ekaterinburg (79:94).

Timur ALLAYAROV became the most productive player of the victorious match against the Moscow team, recording 19 points, 3 rebounds and a steal. Timur KHAYREEV has 14 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Nikita PAVLOV had a collection of 13 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist. The Kazan guys demonstrated team basketball and twice surpassed their opponents in assists (26 against 13). In addition, the hosts dominated under the boards, collecting 16 more rebounds (53 to 37) and showed the best percentage of shots from the game (45 against 36 for the guests).

In the match with the Moscow region team, the Kazan team was again significantly in the lead in rebounding, collecting 38 rebounds against 25 from their peers from Khimki. Daniil DUBOVOY became the best among the winners, scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in 38 and a half minutes on the court. Timur ALLAYAROV has 13 points and 5 rebounds.

The third semi-final round of the Junior Basketball League Championship is scheduled for March 2024.
