UNICS-Juniors advanced to the next round from 1st place in the group

UNICS juniors won 4 out of 5 matches in the 1st round of the semi-final round of the XXIII Russian Championship among basketball players under 19, the matches of which were held in Vasilevo.

On the home court, the Kazan team led by Oliver POPOVIC successively defeated Zenit-2008 from St. Petersburg (84:48), Severbasket from the Murmansk Region (87:50), Moscow's MBA-Dynamo (98:72) and Nizhny Novgorod's FOK Meshchersky (78:48).

The only defeat of UNICS-Juniors was suffered by the capital's MBA Academy with a score of 71:77, which did not prevent our guys from taking the top place in the B1 group.

In the opening match against Zenit-2008 (84:48), Timur KHAIREEV became the most productive player, recording 21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Ilnar FARKHUTDINOV and Timur ALLAYAROV brought the team another 25 points with 8 rebounds for two.

In the game against Severbasket (87:50), Timur KHAIREEV became the best sniper of the white-greens again, scoring 14 points and adding 4 rebounds with 3 steals.

Kazan owes a major victory over MIBA-Dynamo (98:72) to the productive game of Daniil DUBOVOY, who scored a double-double of 23 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals, as well as Timur KHAYREEV (22 points + 5 assists).

In the final match with their peers from FOK-Meshchersky (78:48), four Kazan junior basketball players scored double–digit points - Daniil DUBOVOY (19 + 6 rebounds), Timur KHAIREEV (16 + 7 rebounds + 3 steals), Ilnar Farkhutdinov (13 + 7 assists), Nikita PAVLOV (12 + 8 rebounds + 2 assists).

The next round of the Junior Basketball League Championship is scheduled for February 2024.
