After an unexpected defeat from Samara-2 in the first match with a score of 63:75, the basketball players of UNICS-2 went to the home court with great motivation and took a crushing revenge from their opponents – 91:65.

The day before, the best in our team was 19-year-old guard Artem KIZILOV, who scored 24 points with 4 rebounds. Kazan left for the big break with the score 42:39, but missed the spurt of Samara-2 13:0 at the turn of the 3rd and 4th periods, which turned out to be fatal.

Today, Andrey Kibenko's team removed all questions about the winner already in the very opening of the meeting, having achieved a 20-point handicap by the middle of the starting quarter – 26:6. UNICS-2 kept the difference by the half time (46:26), and by the buzzer multiplied the lead to the final «+26» - 91:65.

Today our guys made 14 three-point shots, and the key to success was the aggressive defense of the hosts. The basketball players of UNICS-2 made 18 steals (against only 4 from the guests), forcing the Samara team to lose balls twice as often – 27 against 13 in losses. More than half of the points – 50 out of 91 – were recorded by Sergey POLSTYANOV (18), Ilya BARANOV (16) and Anatoly GUNTER (16).

UNICS-2 will hold its next matches on March 9-10 on the home court of UTC Vasilevo against Khimki-2.
